New Tampa is a spectacular up and coming area of Florida that is comprised of a 24-square-mile area within the city of Tampa. New Tampa may also refer to parts of Wesley Chapel, an unincorporated area that is also in Hillsborough County but extends a little further North of Tampa. The incorporated portion of New Tampa that lies within the city limits of Tampa is one of the largest city neighborhoods in the area. The population has grown tremendously and as of 2000 New Tampa already had a population of 22,466.
